31) Cosa succede in caso di maternità? / What happens in case of pregnancy?

Risposta: In caso di maternità, la sospensione è obbligatoria per il periodo di maternità obbligatoria (2 mesi prima del parto e 3 mesi dopo il parto, o 1 mese prima del parto e 4 mesi dopo il parto) e di eventuale interdizione anticipata dal lavoro. Il periodo di sospensione potrà essere recuperato, se ritenuto necessario dal Collegio dei Docenti, al termine dei tre anni di corso. Se si è titolari di borsa di studio:
- il pagamento della borsa resta sospeso durante il periodo di sospensione del corso e riprende al momento della ripresa delle attività. Il pagamento della borsa per il periodo di sospensione viene effettuato solo se è stato previsto un periodo di recupero al termine dei tre anni di corso e solo per il periodo previsto (sempre con rate mensili posticipate);
- il pagamento della borsa non è sospeso quando sussistono motivazioni attinenti alla scadenza tassativa dei fondi su cui è pagata la borsa. In tal caso l’erogazione della borsa non avverrà oltre la durata del corso di dottorato e, in caso di mancato recupero del periodo di sospensione, l’interessato dovrà restituire quanto percepito nel periodo di sospensione non recuperato.

In case of maternity, suspension is compulsory for the period of compulsory maternity (2 months before the birth and 3 months after the birth, or 1 month before the birth and 4 months after the birth) and any early retirement. The period of suspension may be made up, if deemed necessary by the Board of Teachers, at the end of the three-year programme. If you are a scholarship holder:

- payment of the grant is not suspended when there are reasons relating to the strict expiry of the funds on which the grant is paid. In this case, the grant will not be paid out beyond the duration of the PhD programme and, in the event of failure to recover the period of suspension, the person concerned will have to repay the amount received during the period of suspension not recovered.
